Real Protection. The Right Starting Point.
Challenger Safes

The Challenger is how Champion answers the question: "what's the least I can spend and still get a real safe?"
The answer is a 12-gauge steel body, five-spoke handle, external hinges for a 180° opening, and up to 12 × 1¼" door bolts secured by four-way active boltworks. The door is built from 12-gauge outer steel with a full 14-gauge inner plate, more door rigidity than anything in its price class. The 5/8" Type X fireboard and heat-expanding fire seal around the door frame deliver 60 minutes of content protection at 1200°F.
Inside: high-capacity gun racks, adjustable shelving, and a plush interior. The Double-Steel Door Casement adds pry resistance. The Auto-Relock™ system adds a layer of security the competition at this price point doesn't offer.
The Challenger consistently outperforms everything it competes against on price. That's the Champion standard applied to the entry tier.

Why this safe
The Challenger is the right answer for the buyer who knows they need a real safe but is buying their first one. The distinction matters: this is not a gun cabinet or a box-store product with a lock on it. It's a Champion safe with 12-gauge steel walls, four-way active boltworks, and a real fire rating. The price is accessible. The protection is real. That's a combination that's surprisingly hard to find.
Why it matters
A 60-minute fire rating at 1200°F is the baseline that matters for residential fire protection. Structure fires typically burn out in 30-45 minutes, the Challenger's rating covers that with room to spare. The multi-point door bolts and Auto-Relock™ mean the burglary resistance isn't an afterthought. For a first safe, this is the product that you don't regret owning.
Who it's for
First-time safe buyers making the jump from no storage or a gun cabinet. People who want a real Champion safe at the entry price. Buyers on a budget who won't compromise on the fundamentals of the product, steel gauge, fire rating, bolt count, brand.
